APRIL 2027 WOMENS SAFARI
A little comfort. A lot of wild.
For women who like a little dust on their boots and a little luxury at day's end.
THIS SAFARI
Nothing typical about it.
This safari was created for women who want to experience a different side of Kenya. Over two weeks we move between remote landscapes, beautiful camps and experiences that reveal the country beyond the usual safari circuit. We walk. We travel slowly. We spend time with the people who know this land best. Some nights are spent beneath canvas, others in comfort, but every part of the journey has been chosen for a reason.
This is not a trip built around rushing between sightings or collecting destinations. It is about paying attention. To the landscape. To the wildlife. To the conversations that unfold when a group of women shares an adventure together.
This is a journey that unfolds slowly. One that leaves room for the unexpected, for shared adventure and for discovering a different way of experiencing Africa.
The journey unfolds.
A little comfort. A lot of wild.
This journey moves through landscapes that could hardly be more different, yet each feels entirely at home within the story of Kenya. One morning you might wake to the dry scent of dust carried across open plains, where distant mountains rise beyond scattered acacia and wildlife moves quietly through the landscape. A few days later you'll fall asleep beneath canvas beneath one of the darkest night skies imaginable. Then, almost without warning, the Indian Ocean appears. The warm Matlai breeze drifts through open windows, ancient dhows slip across turquoise water and donkeys wander the narrow coral-stone streets of Lamu, just as they have for generations. Contrast is part of this journey.
Days spent walking through remote wilderness make the coast feel softer. Sleeping beneath canvas makes crisp white linen feel like a quiet luxury. Every place sharpens your appreciation of the next. By the time you leave, you'll realise there isn't one Kenya. There are many. Each landscape has its own character, its own people and its own stories to tell. Experiencing those contrasts, rather than just passing through them, is one of the greatest privileges of the journey.
We cover ground slowly.
The instinct when travelling is often to keep moving, believing that the next place will somehow be better than the last. We've learnt the opposite. The longer we remain somewhere, the more it begins to reveal itself. The landscape becomes familiar. Guides stop being guides and become storytellers. Wildlife encounters gain context. What first felt extraordinary slowly becomes something quieter, deeper and more memorable. Not because we've travelled further. Because we've stayed long enough to belong, if only for a little while.
The best things are rarely planned.
A flock of vultures circling high overhead. Round and round they go until your guide quietly changes direction. Below, hidden in the grass, lions are gathered around a fresh kill. None of us expected it. It wasn't on the itinerary. The bush is always leaving clues.
Fresh elephant tracks crossing the road. The alarm call of a monkey echoing through the trees before anyone has spotted the leopard. The distant bark of a baboon. As the days unfold, you'll find yourself slowing down, paying closer attention and beginning to notice the things you would once have walked straight past. It is often these small observations that lead to the most extraordinary moments. The memories women carry home are rarely the ones that appeared on the itinerary. They are the ones that unfolded because there was time to notice.
The rhythm of travelling together.
There is a rhythm that emerges on a journey like this. Not one we create, but one the landscape quietly invites us into. There are moments when we come together, drawn by the shared awe of a striped hyena stepping silently through the darkness on a night drive. No one speaks. We don't need to. The beauty of the moment belongs to all of us.
Then there are moments when the landscape asks something different. The gentle knock of wooden camel bells as we walk up a dry lugga. The sound becoming almost hypnotic as our footsteps find the same steady cadence. Each woman walks within sight of the others, yet entirely inside her own thoughts. The journey expands and contracts. Like breathing.
There is the rhythm of the group, shaped by what we experience together. And then there is the quieter rhythm each woman discovers for herself. Sometimes it arrives while watching the last embers settle into ash. Sometimes while walking through country so vast it seems to create space within you too.
No two journeys are ever the same. Each woman arrives carrying her own story, her own questions, her own reasons for saying yes. The landscape doesn't provide the answers. But it has a remarkable way of creating the space in which they begin to emerge.
